Is it Spring yet?!

Hello! Did everyone have a good spring break? I traveled to the Gulf Coast where the weather was warm and the sun was shinning. It is somewhat depressing coming back to snow in NE! It's been awhile between posts! Everyone that told me Nursing school after the 3rd semester was crazy busy and time consuming was right. It is very rare to have one day where I don't need to be at school, clinical or studying and catching up with other classes. Thankfully, I don't mind it too much and have kept up so far :) Think Spring everyone :)

Busy busy!

Hey all!
We have been very busy here at the college. Spring semester classes are getting into full swing and are busy as ever! Also, we just had our BSN application deadlines so there have been lots of prospective students in and out of here for their interviews. So far this semester has been good, just very busy! I am finally into the clinical portion of my schooling, but it is a lot of work that's for sure. Hopefully in my free time this weekend (if I have any) I want to go see the movie that just came out last Friday called The Roommate. Has anyone seen this movie? I'm sure glad I've never had to experience a roommate situation like this!

Hope everyone survived the recent snow/ice storm. It was nice to have yet another day off of school :) The application deadline for the BSN program starting in the fall of this year was the 1st and we are finally getting caught up on scheduling interviews and processing applications! Can't wait to see all of the new faces around campus.

Remember the deadline is the 15th for Health Profession applicants!

Brrrrr....

It's cold here today! It took everyone a lot of extra time to get in to the College because the streets were so slick. We're just glad that everyone was driving slowly and got here safe. It looks like this is just the start of this wintery blast. I guess the snow is going to arrive sometime this afternoon and then we'll have a short break from it tomorrow morning and then Tuesday night we'll get more, along with subzero (really?) temps and high winds.

Would it be too much to ask for summer to make an earlier appearance? Anyone else with me on this one?

We are keeping very busy in the Admissions Office, McKayla, Julie and Shelby are even busier with clinical this semester than before. But with our Fall BSN application deadline tomorrow and the Health Profession deadline in two weeks the mail alone takes more than a day to get through. We are usually just finishing up processing the previous day's mail when the next batch shows up! Not that we are complaining we love getting all the applications and we are excited to start accepting our next classes!

I'm thankful that I have some yummy spicy leftover chili for my lunch today...perfect on such a cold a blustery day. What are you going to do to keep warm?

Break...

Well our students are all on break now until Spring semester, which begins January 10th. It's very quiet around campus today. Graduation was Saturday and we said goodbye to 36 fabulous nursing students who earned their BSNs.

Faculty are around today finishing grading and getting those grades turned in for the end of the semester. And we're all looking forward to our long weekend coming up.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Classes have been fun this semester as I have been doing once a week clinicals. I had clinical for half the semester at Bryan West and the other half at St. Elizabeth's. I have learned a lot about scanning and patient care at both facilities. It is way cool that I'm only in my second year of college and I'm already getting clinical experience and I've even gotten to scan patients on my own.

Next semester we go to twice a week clinicals and some of the sites could even be outside of Lincoln. It will be nice to see the different facilities and see all the different types of scans at each place.

I can't believe it is already December! Next week is finals week. Only 11 more days until my christmas break officially begins. I will probably spend most of my break back home with friends and family. I can't wait to see everyone!
This is how I feel about finals week:
