Well the full effects of school and work are finally setting in. It's been a crazy week starting off being late and locked out of the CPR class I was supposed to attend at 8 in the morning. Soo now I have to reschedule that again...then my dog keeps escaping out of the yard so I have to run around looking for her! And of course the homework is getting more intense, more papers to be written. Fun stuff. Oh well I think I am more productive under pressure :) . I should be thankfull I'm not sick yet..seems like more and more poeple in my classes have been missing due to illness.

Intro To Healthcare Speakers
Hi Everyone,
I really liked the two speakers we had at Intro to Healthcare lastnight. The speakers both had or still have an opsticle in which they have to overcome in their everyday lives. Our first speaker had an allergy to latex. She talked about her everyday battle of keeping latex free. There were so many things that didn't even occur to me, in which we use everyday, that have rubber in them. Some everyday utinsels she has to be careful with are shoes, hairbrush, toothbrush, tv remotes, and eating out because restraunts often prepare their food with rubber gloves.
Our other speaker had mouth cancer. She told us the story from the day she found the growth under her tongue, to the day she was told she had cancer, the radiation process, and her road to recovery. Just hearing her story was very was enough to touch our hearts. I have heard cancer stories before, but this truly topped them off. It is said that when you have been free of cancer for five years it won't come back. She is about to reach her fourth year. I ask that we all keep her in our prayers.

Long time no see!
Hello again from Springfield IL!!! I miss everyone back at home in NE, but things are going great here! I have had the chance to see a lot of pathology and I am getting less and less dependent everyday! Pretty soon I'll get my "training wheels" off as they tell me. I am gaining more confidence in my scanning skills and ability to find pathology without someone there watching over me. My days go quick and I think next thing I know I'll be done! I went up to Des Moines this past weekend to see my fiance. I also got to see my classmate who is doing her clincial in Ames IA so that was awesome! This next weekend my friends from Peoria are coming to visit me here in Springfield, so I have been keeping myself somewhat surrounded by friends. Not much else, just wanted to say hi to everyone back at home!
Until next time...

3 Day Weekend!
So I'm sure everyone is pumped for the 3 day weekend ahead! But I am more pumped for the 1st Husker game on Sat.! Unfortunatly I won't be attending but will be watching PPV! I'm sure they will kill FAU...do doubt. I really don't like football but it's like high school when you go to the games and show school spirit, it sucks you in and that's what it is all about, supporting Nebraska and their awesome football squad! I don't know how anyone could live in Nebraska and not be a Husker fan, beyond me. I was also thinking about visiting the Sate Fair since I have never been. Probably should since I know I won't be driving to Grand Island next year for it that's for sure. Well have a good holiday weekend everyone!
