Vacation

Last week I was on vacation Thursday through Sunday so I'm going to be dragging all week this week. My parents loved waking us up at 7 a.m. every morning so we could start doing things and it was awful! I haven't been up that early in forever. We spent a lot of time shopping which was definately okay with me, but it was so hot out that even walking across the parking lot to the car I would be sweating. This weekend I'm going to Alma with my roommate for the 4th and I'm hoping that the weather stays nice enough that we can be out on the lake the ENTIRE weekend. Other than that I don't have anything to exciting to talk about. I just spend my time working so I can save a little extra money this summer, but with all of the shopping I've been doing its not working out so well!

Busy week thus far

I went to Transformers at midnight, meh not really worth it. It was cool though. I really liked it but it was just an action movie. Not much of a plot. I was hoping for more characters but it was pretty weak... The much anticipated Soundwave didn't do anything, and there were only 3 or 4 new Autobots. Each movie is turning out to end up like each episode of the cartoon was. Decepticans have some ridiculous earth destroying plan, Autobots beat them up, Decepticons run away... but it was still a fun journey. In other movie news, I tried to watch Rob Zombies Holloween alone at midnight on Monday... That was a bad bad bad idea. The little kid they got to play Michael was CRAZY!!! he was such a good horror actor I hope that he's in more scary movies but I'll be sure to watch them with someone! I fixed my flat tire in Omaha and got to see Harper's Island. My mom likes how the show is going but I was really hoping it'd be part of the wedding party, however they did say that there could be a second killer so fingers crossed theres a plot twist! Anyway, I am going to take kt's fan because she left it muahahahaha! And I will miss my office sister alot but I know she's on to bigger and better things so congradulations to her. But shelby and I can take care of things for the time being. well thats all I got for now

Missing the Office

Ok, so I read Riley's blog, and it made it hit home that I no longer work in the adm office...(when he used my quote, glad to know you liked it even though you don't know what it means). I miss everyone already, and I know it will be really tough for me to go to Springfield IL in August. This semester has been challenging, and honestly I should be studying right now, but decided to take a blogging break...we had one huge test that was broken up into two, so we took the first part Monday, and now tomorrow (Wed) is the other half, and hopefully the easier half! Clinicals were slow today, but it was fun looking at a lot of the past echo's done in the lab, checking out some cool pathologies and such. July is almost here and it is crazy how fast time is flying, probably because I don't want it to. Anyways I better get back, but I had to have a shout out to my office people because I miss you a lot and I really hope you aren't getting backed up on work with only having 2 students in there right now!!
Until next time...

US Open!

Thank God for rain delays all through the US Open. Because today I got to watch a live stream of the final Round and Bethpage park while I worked. I started with the leaders at hole 1o and it was exciting for about 7 of the 8 remaining holes. It included an eagle for Mickelson and a come back from Duval, but in the end Lucas Glover was able to hold on to his -4 score to win. In other news, I have watched a few more movies, all have been descent. I had a flat on my bike, that rocked. And I accidentally deleted Harpers Island off my DVR before watching it... RRRRRRR!!!!
But hey gotta take it with a grain of salt, like katie always says (and since I have no idea what it means i decide to just use it in everyday conversation) Any way, It was a long week last week and I'm ready to tackle this week before it tackles me

Still here

So it has been way too long since I blogged last...sorry, I have been very busy, and haven't been in the admissions office much since I was helping with the High School Health Career Camp and the Roommate Round-up...but I will really be absent from the office after this week, as this Friday is my last day in the office. I have a lot on my plate right now, and with my wedding planning, class, and moving in August, I knew it was best to no longer work in the office. I will miss it a lot, especially the people, but I will still blog so don't worry!
I had another clinical day today, it went very well, I have been seeing a lot of pathologies, I'll list a few, if you are interested go look them up, maybe Echo is for you!
-Bicuspid Aortic Valve
-Severe Mitral and Tricuspid Regurgitation
-Aortic Stenosis
-LV Stage 1 diastolic dysfunction
-LV systolic dysfunction
-Right side enlargement (RV and RA)
-False Tendons (in the LV)
-Pulmonic Insufficiency (or pulmonic regurg)
-Aortic Insufficiency (or regurg)
And the list goes on and on...it is pretty exciting and fun!
I'll write again before the week is out!
Until next time...

Birthday!

Last Tuesday was my birthday and it was a pretty good day. I worked for awhile and then spent the rest of the day with my roommates and they took me shopping and out to dinner so that was pretty nice. Hopefully the weather will get nice here soon! I don't think the sun has came out the entire month of June. My family is going on vacation to Kansas City next week to visit my brother so that should be pretty fun. We are going to check out the new water park called the Schlitterbahn which is supposed to be one of the biggest water parks in the country I believe. Other than that I'm just going to be working as much as possible to save up some money.

gun to my head blog

So Every 18 seconds Sara is in here telling me what to blog about so I'm going to blog a reallty long blog for her to read because I think Shes bored. Topics... GO!!!!
1 Defiance is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Up there with Gangs of New York. Daniel Craig is very good in it but the best performance is fromLiev Schreiber, the guy that plays Sabertooth in the New Wolverine movie. I look forward to seeing him in a lot more movies hopefully.
2 Choke wasnt great. The concept of the movie was funny but it didnt have any moments when you actually laugh out loud. It's a lot better at the end when everything makes sense
3 Gran Torino couldn't live up to the hype others created for it. Good movie with a good message, but when all you hear for 4 month before you see it is how amazing it is, a lot is taken away.
4 since we are talking about wasting time on facebook on this months poll I thought I'd let everyone know I took a quiz and it turns out I'm Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, go figure, but don't worry if you think I'm too femanin to take that quiz I balanced it out with Which Transformer am I and turns out I'm Ultra Magnus... eh.
5 I beat a Spider-man Video game in less than 8 hours, so that was pretty cool.
6 Sara wanted me to post about celebrity gossip, but I hate how much attention they force upon celebrities, so I will always refuse to blog about rumors or gossip. It's pointless and annoying. Burn papparazzi.
Well thats it for now I guess I'll Blog next time I work, because I'm pretty sure Sara is in love with the blog, and loves reading about her favorite employees!

this weeks plans

This week I will be busy at Victoria's Secret because It's time for the Semi-Annual Sale. We have to redecorate the sales floor almost every night and so we will be there from about 4 to 11 at night, so it's a pretty intense week. I heard through the grape vine though that the back stocking area so that will boost my work spirit there. Last night I rented a movie at Blockbuster and they said I have unlimited rentals all week long, so I can go in at least every night to get a new movie. Last night I watched Valkyrie. It was really good but since it is about my favorite subject in history I knew all about it. But it was definitely still worth watching. this week I'm hoping to see The Spirit, Milk, Choke, Quantum of Solice, W., and Defiance. and maybe The Wrestler, Twilight (since it won so many MTV vma's( which is super bogus because Dark Knight was by far a better movie even before I saw it)), The new Punisher, and if there's time I'll find some others, look forward to movie reviews next time. Speaking of Movie reviews, The Hangover was fantastic. Funniest movie I've seen since Step Brothers. Zach Galaficanakis Really does what he is put in the movie to do, and the supporting actors have enough funny lines that he doesn't have to carry the movie by himself. It was a lot like Out Cold but instead this movie had a well deserved R-Rating.

Another thing I've been Interested in is this Show Harper's Island. Its a murder mystery/ horror show about a group of people that go to get married on the island they grew up on even though 7 years ago there was a mass murder. My mom and I have been guessing the killer every week, and last week we were convinced it was the main character because she was secretly psycho but this weeks episode seems to point to the groom of the wedding who was myt back burner killer. Last night my mom texted me after we watched it, and I quote ... "WHAT??? OMG!!!" hahahaha ooo Mom. So when they I believe there are 4 or 5 more episodes so I'm excited for it to get to the end.
Until Next time

Clinical Experience

So I had my first clinical experience this week. It was here at BryanLGH East in the Plaza. I was there from 9am-3pm and it went pretty fast. I loved it so much, I just wish I could skip the student part and just know how to be out there already! I think I will really enjoy scanning people's hearts every day! You definately never know what you will find, which makes it pretty exciting. It is almost like opening a present for the first time with each patient because there are always suprises (not necessarily bad either). I am excited to see more pathology...bad for the patient, but fun for us! I also like that we do not tell the patient what we find, I don't think I could handle that part, which is why I chose to do what I do. Ok well I have to get ready to go to the Allied Health Exploration Evening tonight, a classmate and I get to show potential students what we do! :)
Until next time...

BUSY!

So much for having a relaxing summer. I have been SUPER busy ever since school got out! I've been working a lot more hours and then when I get home from work something always needs done...the lawn needs mowed, my laundry needs done, the house needs cleaned, etc. Welcome to the real world I guess! This weekend I'm going home again to celebrate my birthday with my family. I'll finally be 19 on Tuesday! This summer my roommate and I are planning a week long trip to the Ozarks so I'm pretty excited for that. We're going to go down for a week and spend it doing nothing but boating, jet skiiing, and shopping!
